Join us for an evening of watercolors inspired by Molokai’s natural beauty. For our December 4th, 2018 Art Bar we will have Kalani Pruet as our watercolor instructor. He will be using the medium of watercolors to do an “on location” painting. Participants will have options of subject matter including; a view of the ocean, Mo’oula Falls in Halawa Valley, or tropical flowers. Kalani will be sharing fundamental watercolor techniques such as silhouette and outline drawing followed by watercolor tiling and blending methods.
Kalani Pruet is a watercolor enthusiast and full time resident of Halawa Valley. He spends much of his time maintaining Halawa Tropical Flower Farm, harvesting and selling tropical flowers, bananas, and roots. He has received a BA in Art at UH Mānoa in ‘89 and is a past member of the Lahaina Art Society and Oahu Watercolor Society.
All materials are provided compliments of the Molokai Arts Center and each participant will get to take their piece of art home with them. Be sure to wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting paint on and feel free to bring your own apron (although MAC will have some on hand that can be borrowed).
