Doors open at 5:00 pm
Molokai Arts Center announces it’s 8th Annual signature Soup’ R Bowl fundraising event – a fundraiser for the Arts and Art Education on Molokai.
Join us for an evening under the banyan tree at the Molokai Community Health Center while enjoying one of our 5 delicious and healthy soups: Silky Pumpkin Coconut soup (each year this delicious vegan soup sells out!), Seafood Chowder, Fiesta Chicken soup, Golden Lentil soup and a Portuguese Bean soup, along with artisan bread (Friendly Farm and Kanemitsu Bakery), fresh island green salad, dessert and iced tea. Know too, that the fresh ingredients for our dinner menu will also be locally sourced from local farmers at the Barking Deer Farms and as well as Kumu Farms. All this while enjoying a full lineup of live entertainment with musicians Tony Aquino, Makana Arce and cellist, Anna Callner of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. There will also be a Silent Auction featuring a variety of art from local artists, including a surfboard donated by Renee and Max Medeiros of the Hawaiian Blades Surfboard Company, and many other exciting items.
By purchasing a ticket to this event, you will receive not just an enchanting evening of music and dinner but, you will also get to choose and take home with you a unique handmade soup bowl made by one of Molokai Arts Center ceramicists. Last year, over 450 bowls were made for this event!
The funds raised from this event not only helps to keep our doors open, but also contribute towards the many programs that the Molokai Arts Center offers such as, pottery classes (all levels), Alu Like Kupuna (senior’s) classes, yout art classes, Hawaiian Arts Program, Art Bar, various workshops in other media, visiting artists, an artist in residency program and the proud sponsor of Mr. Underwood’s Strings classes.
Ticket prices are $30 for non members, $24 for members and are being sold at Take’s Variety Store, Kalele Bookstore, Manae Goods n’ Grindz and at the Molokai Arts Center. Where else can you enjoy a lovely evening with live music and delicious food in a breathtaking location for this price while supporting the arts on Molokai? Come and join us!
