CLASSES
YOUTH ART CLASS – April Maddela
Saturdays- Session 1 @ 9:45am to 10:45 am, Session 2 @ 11:00am to Noon
MAC Studio

Held on Saturdays using primarily clay (slab and pinch pot methods) although other media will be used. Classes are one hour sessions and students are asked to sign up in advance. New students are welcome. Taught by April Madela. Call the Arts Center at 567-9696 for the current class schedule or check the calendar.

Fees:

  1. Punch Cards:  $25 for 5 visits (value of $5 per class), and can be used for families with multiple children if they choose. (MAC Members = $20 per card)

Strings Class (Molokai Instrument Program)- Bob Underwood
SUMMER SESSION begins JULY 1st, 2015 Wednesdays only: Beginners 9-9:30am, Intermediate 9:30, Advanced at 10am.

A musical strings class for adults as well as children age 5+ up are may participate free of charge.  Instruments are available for loan including violin, viola, cello, and string bass.

Adults and children 3rd grade and up are welcome to this musical class free of charge. Emphasis is on music performance with a Spring Concert as a grand finale. Instruments are provided as loan including the clarinet, flutes, saxophones, trumpets, and trombones.

This quarterly children’s theatre workshop provides youth between the ages of 5 to 12 years old an opportunity to practice the art of drama and storytelling combined with Hawaiian oral traditions such as: ‘olelo Hawai’i, hula, and oli.  Our experienced Kumu, Ms. Maile Naehu, has designed and customized the curriculum to be deeply rooted in the traditional Hawaiian “Ioina” or values that are universal to build a strong foundation for youth.  This theatre program is designed to address “mo’meheu” (cultural education) as well as artistic development and character building.

Sessions are held over School Intercession breaks over the course of a week.  See calendar to find out when our next Hana Keaka workshop is being held.

Tuition:  $10 per day; (MAC Member’s receive 20% off)
