The Molokai Arts Center will be resuming the popular monthly class “Art Bar” at Hiro’s ‘Ohana Grill starting Tuesday, November 7th from 5-7pm, featuring a different teacher each month.
November’s instructor will be artist and local high school art teacher Perry Buchalter, who will be teaching how to paint a Hawaiian landscape using acrylic on canvas. Supplies will be provided by the MAC. The cost for Art Bar is $24/MAC Members and $30 for nonmembers, and pupus and beverages may be purchased on site. About the Artist:
Perry Scott Buchalter has been a resident of the islands since 1968, and on Molokai since 1979, and the love and respect he has developed for the nature here can be seen in his artwork. He earned his BA from University of Hawaii, Hilo in 1995, and has been teaching art at Molokai High School for over 20 years. He occasionally lectures on art at the University of Hawaii, Maui College Molokai campus. He paints in a variety of media, and enjoys surfing, hiking, and playing the harmonica and guitar.
